3D model description

This toy allows you or your kids to play with a salt or pepper grinder in their toy kitchen. My daughter got a play kitchen as a gift and LOVES it. She loves to help us cook in real life, so designing this pepper grinder was perfect for her kitchen. She loves that it feels real and it grinds just like the real one. I printed two, and in the white salt grinder, while it was printing, I added some silica beads so that she can shake it and hear the material clacking around on top of the grinding action. Of course, these grinders do not actually dispense anything.

3D printing settings

No support needed! I printed with standard PLA settings out of Cura without issue on an ender 3v2. I believe that was 50-60 bed temp, and 200 tool.

I placed a few files in this. All in one includes everything you need to print. The top is the twisting portion, the bottom is the main body, and the cap is the tiny piece in the picture all the way at the top.

Size at 100% is approx 112mm tall by 50mm wide at its widest.

It is assembled with an M3 screw and washer, and I placed a threaded brass insert in the grinder bottom to attach the top. I also added a drop of blue thread locker to the screw since my kids will be twisting it often in their play kitchen. This will help prevent the screw coming loose and becoming a swallow/choking hazard. Of course with PLA or these toys in general, watch out for small parts.
