3D model description

The Shining Star Pentacle Lamp is a perfect adornment for any shelf, side table, or mantle. Use it to beautifully display your favorite crystals, incense cones, or any other small trinkets.

It prints in two separate pieces - the lantern shell with bowl-top, and a thin inner shield. The inner shield can be printed in any light color, such as a light yellow, to give the appearance of being dimply lit without using a light. Or, you can add a small LED tea light candle to really make it shine!

IMPORTANT: This is Not a Wax Warmer or Incense Burner!
Do NOT use a real candle or standard bulb that produces significant heat. This is NOT a wax warmer or incense burner. Any significant amount of heat will ruin the item, or worse.

ASSEMBLY (Glue Optional)
Print out both pieces - the lantern and the inner shield. Insert the inner shield gently into the lamp far enough to cover all openings. It should hold itself in place without glue. If it's slipping, go ahead and add a dab of glue (I recommend E6000) to hold it in place. Without glue, however, you have the option of changing the inner shield for a different color anytime you wish.

3D printing settings

The Pentacle Stars on the lantern require higher quality layers and slower printing. Likewise, the inner shield needs to remain thin enough to easily emit light. The following printer settings are recommended:

Pentacle Lamp - Inner Shield
Layer Quality: 0.16
Initial Layer: 0.2
Infill: 100%
Speed: 80mm/s
Supports: No
Plate Adhesion: None

Pentacle Lamp - Lantern with Bowl
Layer Quality: 0.16
Initial Layer: 0.2
Infill: 10%
Speed: 60mm/s
Supports: Yes
Plate Adhesion: None

Adding Support to Lamp
You'll need to add support beneath the center of the lantern bowl. Nothing elaborate. For beginners using Cura Slicer, choose a 'Normal' support that's 'Touching Build Plate'. For intermediate to advanced users, a custom, circular support is all that's needed.

Multicolor Printing
If your printer is capable of filament change (most are with slicer settings, such as Cura's (Pause at Height'), you can print the bowl in a different color. At the recommended settings (Layer Height 0.12, Initial Layer 0.2), change colors at Layer 417 (of 523).
