3D model description

Treasure chest for AA batteries - printable without supports.

Hello dear community,

here I present you a carefully modeled design of a storage box for AA Mignon batteries in the form of a beautiful treasure chest with lid and hinges.

After I presented my first various models here in 2022 you could see very quickly that my models for storage boxes in the design of beer crates are very loved, although there are also similar models to be found here.

This motivated me to model new ideas and models to similar storage boxes. I then came up with the idea of a treasure box with compartments for AA batteries. The goal was for the treasure box to have a nice design, be printable without supports, have a lid that opens 180 degrees, and function properly. Not an easy task and I had a lot of work to do with the model.

Now the models are final tested and everything works great.

I wish everyone a lot of fun and success in printing this treasure chest for 12 x AA batteries.

*Please also feel free to check out my models on beer crates for different batteries, which are also available as a set here.

Printing and assembly instructions

For the treasure chest, you will receive 4 models:

  • Treasure chest bottom

  • Treasure chest lid

  • Treasure chest stock

  • Treasure chest PIN

You double print both the stock and pin models.

You can also place and print all models on your printing plate at the same time. Please always place the large flat surfaces as the bottom side on the printing plate (see Slicer assembly photo).

After printing, please carefully mount the lid in pairs, the lid should move easily.

Now carefully fit the bearings into the hinges of the treasure chest without applying pressure by turning them slightly. The lid should still move easily and close completely. If necessary, slightly mechanically rework here, with good printer setting and adjustment it fits the same. :)

At the end, put the pins with a little pressure as a cover on the bearings. Then loosen again and again with a small dot of superglue carefully fix final, so that it can not come loose again.

But now have fun printing the treasure chest for batteries.
