Slide-on Accessory Mount for Taz 6

I designed this as a modular accessory mount that slides onto the bed of my Taz 6. I suspect it will work on the other Taz models, as well as a plethora of other printers, but cannot say for sure.

There are two components, the clip that slides onto the bed mounting plate, and a simple cap that slips over the clip's vertical riser. The cap is a quick print, so multiples can be printed to allow fast swaps of various accessories. To make the cap easy to customize, I included two holes on top that should allow you to mount pretty much anything. The holes are designed to accommodate these thermoset inserts. (If you're not already using inserts like these, you don't know what you're missing. Installing them is as easy as placing them on the tip of a soldering iron and pushing them into the hole.)

Once the inserts are in place, you can either mount accessories like cameras, lighting, etc., directly to the cap, or if you need a more specialized mount for an accessory, you can design it yourself so that it accommodates both the accessory and the cap. I'm including a drawing for the cap, with dimensions. I'm not an engineer, so I'm sure my drawing isn't up to industry standards but it should get you by.

The mount is designed to be far enough away from the edge of the bed to allow mounting almost anything without worrying about it being hit by the print head when printing near the front of the bed.

Finally, I included versions of the clip that will work on any corner of the bed. The clip also holds well in other locations on the bed; my need is for a corner mount but you can really use it anywhere you like.
