3D model description

GOBLINS!

I had a lot of fun making these little goobers and finding each of their individual personalities.

Initially, I set out to make these guys for The Lost Mines of Phandelver but by the end, I had started making them weird enough that they could fit in about anywhere.

It is hard for me to pick a favourite out of the ten but I think it would have to be the sleeping goblin guard. Something about his slouched posture, relaxed muscles in his face and the pool of drool running down his arm just speaks to me. Like this little goblin has figured out how so sleep on the job and get away with it.

The Goblin Wizard was really fun to do because when I was younger my dad had somehow gotten his hands on the pelvis bone of a cow (it was heavily bleached by the Australian sun) and would put it over his face wearing it like a mask and tell me Conan-esque tales of wizards from the Hyborian age.

As you may have noticed these goblins are a bit portlier then most you see and I did that deliberately. I grew up on Heroquest and I like the idea of well-fed Goblins over those of a more muscular variety, I figure if I can barely find time to get to the gym how is a chaotic feral little creep maintaining its core and eating a balanced diet. Answer- Its not! Adding to their figure is also the attire. I don't like in fantasy how goblins always have tailor made armour and weapons. I see them more as utterly chaotic and evil children with a severe lack of empathy for anything that isn't a goblin (and sometimes even them.) So the idea of Goblins manufacturing their own armour and weapons never made sense. Which is why I attempted to make all the attire more ramshackle feel or pilfered from a victim.

A great example is the Lookout goblin, his canon (in my head at least) is that the Goblin stumbled across a washed-up pirate who clung to consciousness and was counting his angels after surviving weeks at sea to wash ashore. That is until he was spied upon by a toothy grinned green skin.

I think I have babbled on long enough about the little goobers. If you do choose to purchase and download these little guys I want to thank you very much, it really means the world to me to see my creations bringing others joy. I would also love to see your paintwork and the goblins at the table haranguing the party. So if you could post some pictures and your thoughts that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Tony Folivora.
