3D model description

EDIT: 4/8/20 I have added 3 remixed mask adapter files. V4a, (adds CPAP sized external tube and makes easier to print) 4b (same as 4a and opens up interior to pipe air to side chutes that service the mouth portion of my mask), and 5 (all of the above and further widens the side chute area). I have also included a plug for the center chute of the mask if you would like to close it off and only use sides. Note V3 is still good for a stand alone filter that does not utilize the cpap hose and blower parts.
I have added 1 remixed file for the large cut your own filter holder which should seal much better.

EDIT: 4/7/20 After test fitting several of these parts I found my cpap hose does not fit the opening on the mask adapter. I will remix this with an external tube from a previous version. Also the cut your own filter adapter doesnt seal well to the blower. I will remix the base of the 3M adapter which does seal well and the top of the cut your own adapter.

Please do not purchase the parts to make these unless you need it for a person with elevated risks or to be donated to a local medical facility. These adapters allow you to make a PAPR (positive air pressure respirator) utilizing off the shelf parts that can be sanitized and reused and will assist in reducing PPE consumption. These are not my designs I have compiled them from across the internet in an effort to assist with the pandemic response to the corona virus COVID -19. If I have used one of your designs and you wish me to remove it please notify me and I will. I have attempted to credit their creators where possible.

If you chose to use these I cannot guarantee they will sufficiently protect you from infection, but it is better than using a tshirt to cover your face. The positive air pressure to the mask means the seal on the face is not as important as other masks. This will allow you to use ill fitting or incorrectly sized masks in the case that supplies become limited. I recommend printing the adapters in PETG hotter than normal to ensure good layer adhesion. Print with at least 8 walls floors and ceilings. PETG should withstand temperatures necessary to disinfect the parts without destroying them. I recommend using silicone or other sealant, or duct tape at the seams between the purchased parts and the printed parts as well as the seams on the purchased blower housing. If you chose to do this please ensure the sealant is dry and there are no more fumes being emitted from it before attempting to use the device. I recommend modifying a washable fanny pack to hold the blower and battery pack. Simply cut a hole for the filter holder to stick out of the pack. The unit seems to run for quite a long time on the battery bank I used but it would be a good idea to have 2 in the case one should run out you could swap.

THIS HAS NOT BEEN EVALUATED FOR USE IN A MEDICAL SETTING, AGAINST THE COVID-19 OR OTHER VIRUSES. PLEASE NOTE FAILURE TO FULLY SEAL THE PRINTED CONNECTORS, BLOWER, OR ITS INPUT CONNECTORS AND FILTER HOLDERS COULD BE DANGEROUS. PLEASE ENSURE YOU USE APPROPRIATE FILTER MATERIALS OR IT COULD BE DANGEROUS. PLEASE BE CAREFUL THESE MASKS MAY CAUSE A BUILD UP OF CO2 WHICH COULD BE DANGEROUS. NO WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
