3D model description

I designed this cause i didn't have any space left on my helmet shelve. So i looked across my room and then i see this big a$$ wall.. other people would say: opportunity. Problem with that wall is, that i can't really drill a hole there. Like a normal power drill ain't doing sh!t against this stone wall. I could use a big a$$ stone drill, but the wall is so thin i'd be drilling a gl0ry h0le to my neighbors. So my task was clear. Create a mount that'll stick to the wall without drilling. I had multiple options: super glue, duct tape, hot glue, staples and UHU patafix™.

Super glue - sticky fingers, sticky wall, stinky girlfriend - so thats a no
Duct tape - could be functional, but might not work out as its not so aesthetically pleasing
Hot glue - you've clicked on this thing so you know thats my holy glue and the one i ended up chosing
Staples - no, why did you even read this
UHU patafix™ - this chewing gum with an attitude can't hold shit.. like pictures fall off my wall.. my girlfriend still insists on buying them so im loosly stuck to them

Now we know the envoirement, the tool and the goal. We don't know why R2-D2 chose to be awoken exactly at the end of the seventh Star Wars movie (probably some force bs)... but we know what we have to do now.

Since i'm in love with hot glue from the day i knew about it existing, i've tested my fair share of sticking shit to the wall with it. What can i say? F-cking hotgluemasterrace. Like everything sticks instantly and if you don't want it there, you can just heat it up a little with a hairdrying and peel it of. Unlike UHU patafix™ which always leaves a residue.

If we want the hot glue to hold an considered amount of weight we need a lot of it. A lot of area on the print to be glued to the wall should do the trick. You the the three big ass triangles with a bit of support structure? Just pour hot glue on that and stick it to the wall.

For the helmet mount part i've just looked up other mounts to see how they did it. I choose one, with a long stick and half a ball at the end. This... svcked. It just didnt work out. I got rid of most of it, except for the triangle support that held the stick. Now i redesigned it to be like a clamp. The helmet slide in and can just be picked up again if you need them. Dind't work though..

After a few failed attemps i now settled on the "all in one" solution. Maybe i add a version later with diffrent distances to the wall. Wouldn't wait for it though, as i probably forget about it as soon as i publish this.

I've printed it with the named print settings and glued it to my wall. And holy guacamole this is some strong sh!t.. i mean i'm a really heavy person and could.. pull it down a bit without it coming off. As we people in the industry say: that'll hold up.

What else is there to say? Print it if you like to, how you like to, when you like to, where you like to, in whichever color you want and with whatever material your printer feels comfortable.. i really couldn't care less.

More pictures will follow.

Thats it, please stop reading.
