3D model description

This is a flatbed trailer used by the RAF in World War 2 as a recovery trailer. Included are several photos of the trailer in service. The print is intended as a conversion for the Airfix Albion refuler kit (A03312). This trailer came in two lengths, a 20' and a 33'. It was used before the Queen Mary recovery trailer was available. Previously this trailer was only available as a resin kit. This model was created using period photographs as no original drawings or plans were able to be located, nor any modern photographs.

The print includes the trailer (both with and without the spare tire rack underneath) as well as the trailer split into two halves if your printer (like mine) cannot make a print as long as the full trailer is.

Alignment pins are included in the split design to allow easy mating of the two halves.

The split design includes options for the back with and without the tire racks.

Also included is a spare tire model and the 5th wheel conversion for the Airfix kit. It replaces part B23.

To build the Albion kit, execute steps 1-11, 13-29, 31, 44-49, and 51 as instructed except
- For step 12, fill the recesses for part B20 with filler
- For step 30, full the recess intended for part D20 with filler.

Also included is a STL file of the model with supports i used for my prints. This is intended to make it easier for you to print this. I would suggest adding some additional supports around the trailer axle and tires.
