The Snake Courting Candle

Hi everyone, this is my design of The Snake Courting Candle.

The Courting Candlestick it’s a funny and clever design that allows you to raise the candle as you prefer. The model is practical to carry thanks to the comfortable handle, and the wide lower base prevents the wax from spilling, while the cylinder that holds the candle can be easily unscrewed and cleaned of the poured wax.

The snake is fictional, although I was inspired by the Green Mamba (Dendroaspis angusticeps) and Green Tree Python (Morelia viridis). I also took inspiration from the gold bracelet, in the shape of a snake, from Pompeii.

Both parts that make up the candle holder need supports to be printed. I designed the inner cylinder to hold 18mm diameter candles.

NEVER PRINT THE CANDLESTICK WITH THE SIMPLE PLA. ALWAYS PRINT IT WITH HEAT-RESISTANT MATERIALS SUCH AS ABS, PEGT OR OTHER.

ALWAYS PLACE THE CANDLE HOLDER ON A FLAT AND HORIZONTAL SURFACE AND POSITION IT, TOGETHER WITH THE CANDLE, PERFECTLY VERTICAL. THE FLAME OF THE CANDLE MUST ALWAYS BE HIGHER THAN THE BODY OF THE CANDLE HOLDER.

SUPERVISE THE CANDLE AS LONG AS IT IS LIT, KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN AND ANIMAL, THE CANDLE HOLDER IS NOT A TOY.

For added safety, cover the insides of the candle holder (and anywhere wax may spill) with aluminum foil or other heat-resistant materials.

The model sizes are: 123mm long, 70mm wide and 127mm high.

I recommend not scaling the model. If you do, remember to modify the inner cylinder to adapt it to the diameter of the candle you want to use.

I printed two versions: the colored one with my Elegoo Mars, 0,05 mm layer height, supported, with grey abs-like resin that I colored.

The second version with my Anycubic mega x, 0,2 mm layer heigt, 20 % infill, supported, with black heat resistant pla.
