3D model description

At the request of my friend amateur beekeeper, I designed this trap-grid that screws on the honey pots of 1/2 Kg with lid type 80A (standard model used by many beekeepers in our region).

Attention, this trap is not compatible with the jars models TO82!!! If you use these TO82 jars, the file is available at: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/piege-a-frelons-pour-pot-de-miel-to82

The lid for A80 has two "ears" giving the trap jar great stability and which prevents it from rolling if placed on a flat surface. The height of the "ears" allows the liquid or semi-solid bait to stay in place in the bottom of the pot without leaking.

The trap can also be suspended from a branch or a support using rigid wire held in the front in the hole of one of the ears and in the back by a "slice" of 2cm of mountain bike inner tube, it's pil-poil the right size!

All the oblong holes of the trap are 5mm wide to allow all other insects to "escape". The trap is declined in 2 versions: The first with an entrance hole for Asian hornets of 9mm diameter and the second of 8mm diameter (the indication of the diameter is engraved on one of the ears of the lid).

The traps are designed to optimize weight and printing time as much as possible for a 300µm layer printing. Each grid requires 1h35 of printing on a MK3S with the "standard" setting under PrusaSlicer and weighs only 21,5gr or more than 44 printable traps with a 1Kg PETG spool.

The .stl files are designed with optimized walls for printing in 300µm, 0.4mm nozzle on PrusaSlicer and without any support.

I strongly advise you to print these traps in PETG both for the UV resistance and for the "softer" mechanical resistance.
