3D model description

Wishbone Drill Sharpening ToolI have always found it difficult to sharpen drills with a diameter of less than 3 mm. Manual sharpening was not always possible due to the lack of improvised and convenient devices. The sharpening process is usually problematic for drills with a diameter of less than 1 mm.But my patience has reached its limit, there are already a lot of drills that it’s time to correct. And for this, this device was created, which is called Wishbone. Before, I looked for ready-made solutions, but as usual I decided to do it my own way. This device allows, without special skill, to quickly and accurately sharpen drills with a diameter of 0.5 mm to 3 mm. As an abrasive, you can use both sandpaper and stones for sharpening knives, including those with diamond coating. But since I have a Disc Sander GIANT that I made a very long time ago, it remains only to add substrates for it so that the process is more technological. When sharpening the drill, in the process of reciprocating movements, it is necessary to start from a vertical position and end with a slight inclination of the device, thus forming a backing of the cutting edge. The bearing flange and bearing housing (1, 2) contribute to tilt control. For a standard 120 degree angle, which is used for drilling in hard materials, you need to install the drill so that its tip and the bearing flange form an angle of 60 degrees. For sharper angles for working with soft materials, you need to set 45-55 degrees (sharpening will be done from 90 to 110 degrees). It is best to use a goniometer. It will be clearer on the video :) ... but there is nothing complicated.See the video for details: If you liked this thing - let me know by putting like!Parts links below: Mini Drill Chuck Adapter Collet Bearing F693ZZ Cylindrical Pi D 3 mm L 10 mm AB-Glue Epoxy Tree Frog 502 50g Strong Super Glue Diamond Sharpening Stone Sharpening stones TopZeal Filament ABS Links to used tools: NOGA deburring tool and Blades Reamer Tool Set 320 Degree Universal Angle Ruler 180 Degree Stainless Steel Protractor Required files: project-files.zip My favorites: Thank you for every tip or donation,it means great recognition for me and helps a lot to keep going!
