3D model description

This Garage/Gas Station is inspired from the early 1960s Matchbox Lesney Moko (MG1B) Garage. This 3D printed model approximates the original model and attempts to preserve the “look and feel” of the original design but it is not an exact copy and there are differences (e.g. windows and door). The modifications to original matchbox toy were made to simplify the 3D design and cut back the printing time. The dimensions may also be slightly different from the original matchbox design as all measurements were taken from images sourced on the internet. The model has two designs for the curved windows: The first has no “glass” panels. After printing you can glue thin Perspex or clear plastic to the inside frame to give the appearance of glass (as shown in the BP version of the model). You’ll probably need to print this version with supports. The second window design is printed using so called “transparent” PVA with the window panels being just 0.4mm thick (as shown in the Esso version of the model). This design gives a rather translucent “frosted” glass appearance which may be attractive to some modellers. The model/s serves as nice backdrops to display your vintage matchbox vehicles or part of a diorama. It is a simple design to print but can take about 100 hours depending on your machine and settings.
