3D model description

This is a mega COMBO which includes various of my publications for a lot less money than the sum of the parts.

If you want to build a buggy based on OBTS chassis, but also want 3D printed Buggy Wheels and Big Bore Shocks, the same than a collection of 12mm Wheel HEX and another collection of Motor Pinions for quite less money than all these publications, this is for you.

More than 200 parts for you to choose and print those you need for your exact build, depending on the Wheelbase you want, your chosen CVDs and central differential, Motor Pinion teeth number, and a few more.

I have created a folder structure which should help you find and choose the right parts for your build.

In the root folder you will find:

  • M3 Grub folder, with Motor Pinions from 10 to 23 teeth
  • M4 Grub folder, with Motor Pinions from 10 to 23 teeth

In the Wheel HEX folder you will find:

  • 7 different standard 12mm HEX from 4 to 10mm long
  • 2 different 12mm HEX for HSP 188015 CVDs

In the Big Bore Shocks folder you will find:

  • 12 different shock bodies from 55mm to 110mm length from pin to pin
  • 12 different shock springs from 30mm to 85mm length with supports
  • Different TPU parts, including 5 Pistons, bottom and top Seals and Links
  • The rest of the needed parts to build a shock

In the Buggy Wheels folder you will find:

  • Standard front 27mm wide Rim and 4mm Offset one
  • Standard rear 35mm Rim
  • Front and rear correspondent Tires

The included Chassis Suspension Parts will let you build Off-Road and On-Road Models, even this being a Buggy publication.

To build the Chassis you will have to follow the little outdated instructions in the OBTS Complete Publication

If you want to use the provided Buggy and Truggy Body Shells, you will have to build a 270mm wheelbase chassis, or scale in Z the Shells according to the different wheelbase you choose.

The Main parts from the chassis are grouped into front / rear, for the different wheelbases available. You can separate them in Cura for example, using the "Mesh Tools" add-on. Remember that the total wheelbase will be the sum of the front partial wheelbase and the rear partial wheelbase.

If you don't know what number of Motor Pinion teeth you want, start with the 14T one, which should allow you to increase or decrease the number of teeth later if you need more torque or more max speed.

The different Wheel HEX will allow you to find the perfect one for your chosen CVDs, shorter, longer or for the special HSP 188015 CVDs, which have a different shape.

To build the Shocks you will have to follow the instructions of the Big Bore Shocks Publication

I spent months designing all these parts, and they work together good enough I think. Obviously, sourced Wheels and Shocks will make a big difference with the 3D printed ones, but you can use the 3D printed parts as an start point and acquire the wheels or shocks later.

Remember that the main idea in my RC designs is replace most of the parts for 3D printed ones, but not all... Sourced differentials, including the central one will make a big difference in durability and performance, so don't doubt about these ones. Diff pinions and vases are really cheap too, and HSP CVDs use to cost around 2-4$ each pair.

If you want to play with it more than 3 or 4 minutes, it is very important that your chosen Motor doesn't overheat. If it does, the motor mount and the motor pinion will get hot too and will get loose, making the motor displace from its original place or the pinion to not spin with the motor or fly away.

To avoid overheating, I would recommend you to not choose a very high KV one, I mean, It will probably generate less heat one around 3000KV than around 4000KV. A brushed motor will probably overheat more than a brushless one, if its build quality is good enough.

Finally, remember that the cost of the individual publications included is around 2X the cost of this one, I hope you appreciate the COMBO concept. In other words, is like buying those individual publications with a 50% discount.
