3D model description

Wild Wobblers is a collection of nature-themed desktop toys. These self-balancing blobs are specially designed to always return to center after wobbling around. They are a great addition to children's play rooms and adult office workspaces alike. They are fun and safe for young children who are developing early motor skills and are equally as fun to bop around a desk during a work call.

The collection is always growing, so choose your favorite animal and start printing it today! View the whole collection at the link below.

3D printing settings

This is a very easy print, which does not require any support. To achieve the balanced wobble effect, you must make one modification in the slicer. The part prints great with 10% infill, but the last 24% (15 mm at full scale) of the print should be set to 100% infill. I explain how to calculate this for different scales below. This will make sure there is enough weight to keep it centered and balanced. You can achieve this in Prusa Slicer by adding a height range modifier then adding an infill change to that range. Or simply download the 3MF file, where the settings are already applied.

Scaling: it is possible and generally yields good results, please just note that scaling it down might make some of the details less noticeable. If you change the scale, make sure to also change the layer height at which you switch to full infill to ensure the wobble effect still works. The formula to find (my recommended) level to switch the infill density is as follows: Z-Height of the part * 0.76. (For example if the new height should be 50mm: 50 * 0.76 = 38) In this case, you would switch to 100% infill at layer height 38mm.
