3D model description

This extension allows you to have a module that integrates with Flashforge brand A3 printers.

This module is fixed directly on the right side of it.

The original trap door is mounted on the module allowing to have a nice finish.

A dedicated filament holder and extruder inlet adapter are included.

All STL files are designed to be printed on an A3 Flashforge.

Cutting planned for tray 150x150x150mm.

Files are also provided for large printers.

For the record, anyone with an A3 Flashforge quickly realized Flashforge's intentional or unintentional mistake regarding the limited size of the roll media.

On the net we saw quickly come out different type of supports, which I rushed to print.

But the overall appearance broke the visual aspect of this printer, open trapdoor etc....

So with time, I decided to go for this design.

After hours of modeling and printing test here is the result.

Detailed assembly instructions included.

3D printing settings

Dimension of the finished and assembled module: 270x330x120mm

Printing:

There are 20 objects to print

PLA, PETG, ABS filament in two colors preferably.

The metallic filament renders very well.

Accuracy: 0.2mm

Density: 20%.

Data on my Flashforge A3 speed 40mm/s:

Overall printing time: 80 hours

Filament quantity: 189.49 meters or 2/3 of a 1kgs spool

Energy consumption: 6.4kwh for 80 watts or about 1.28€.
