3D model description

Minions come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Augment your standard building blocks with these parts to assemble your army of minions.

There are enough parts here to build complete minions from these parts. They should interoperate with standard blocks, so you can mix-and-match.

At a minimum, the goggle plate (minion_2x2_goggles_plate or minion_cyclops_goggles_plate) allows you to add goggles to standard blocks. A standard 1x1 round plate with hole makes a nice goggle eyepiece attached to the plate, or you can use the goggle eyepieces here (goggle_eye_partial_front).

Standard 2x2 round bricks and plates must have cut-outs to fit the studs. To avoid those cutouts, there are one stud versions of the goggle plates (minion_2x2_goggles_single_stud_top, minion_cyclops_goggles_single_stud_top) and associated tops (minion_2x2_single_stud_head_top and associated variants).

Minion bottom provides an opportunity to put the legs in the middle of the minion rather than back. The bottom of the bottoms will mate with 1x1 round bricks. We also provide feet.

Minion arms and hands are tiny at this scale. Hands are a tight fit, but with good prints (and cleanup) they can slip on. If the Minion is likely to be handled regularly, it may be worth gluing the hands on. Alternately, also provided are versions where the hands are integrated with the arms. If you can change colors at a layer height, printing these with the hands down will allow an integrated, multicolor print (minion_skinny_arm_with_hand_left_support and minion_skinny_arm_with_hand_right_support). The embedded support at the fingertips is designed to be the flat base placed on the printing platform.

If you have the ability to change colors at a layer height, the integrated head and goggles version (ones that start minion_top and minion_cyclops_top) are useful.

Design source is SCAD with internal parameters that can be adjusted to generate even greater variety.
