3D model description

Welcome to Morocco!

مرحبا بك في المغرب

Bienvenue à Maroc!

This model was created by MiniWorld3D collaborator Trevor DePodesta, aka @coold3d4me) cool3d4me.com .

The Mausoleum of Mohammed V (Arabic: ضريح محمد الخامس‎) is a mausoleum located across from the Hassan Tower (https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-hassan-tower-rabat-morocco-84587) in Rabat, capital of Morocco. It contains the tombs of the Moroccan king Mohammed V and his two sons, late King Hassan II and Prince Abdallah.

The mausoleum complex was designed by Vietnamese architect Cong Vo Toan using traditional Moroccan forms with modern materials. The rich materials, as well as the deliberate use of historical crafts and motifs, is meant to not only pay tribute to Mohammed V but also to evoke his own efforts to encourage traditional craftsmanship as a means of promote a sense of Moroccan identity.

Construction lasted from 1961 to 1971, and involved renovations to the esplanade of the ruined Almohad-era mosque to which the Hassan Tower (https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-hassan-tower-rabat-morocco-84587) belonged (from Wikipedia).

MiniWorld3D is excited to bring this model to life as a homage to all the people of Morocco. This model was created from scratch completely by Trevor DePodesta, no scans or repurposed models, so it's pristine clean for 3D printing!
