3D model description

¡Bienvenidos a CDMX!

As a homage to Mexico's capital city, MiniWorld 3D brings the most complete collection of its landmarks and famous buildings! This project is huge so we'll break it in parts, each containing a few buildings following a theme.

Part 8 are buildings just north of the city center, in Tlatelolco, a place full of history since pre-Hispanic times and today the second largest apartment complex in North America.

The main model in this collection is the Square of the 3 Cultures. It is named so because Mexica (Aztec) pyramids of ancient Tlatelolco, a Spanish Church and convent, and modern aparment buildings from the 1960's coexist within meters of each other. This square was also the setting of a tragic event in Mexico's history when in October 2, 1968, a student demonstration was violently shut down by the government, with countless dead, missing, or injured. A memorial slab commemorates this event. Several buildings collapsed or were damaged during the 1985 earthquake, marking yet another tragedy to the location.

Torre Insignia is a triangular skyscraper designed by Mexican architect Mario Pani, who was also the mastermind behind the entire "modern housing" project during the 1960's in this location. It held important offices until it was closed and abandoned in 1993.

Lastly, the 3 tall apartment towers, also Pani's design, are one of many building types that were built in the complex, these being type N. Unique in height and having a penthouse, these were designed for higher income tenants. This particular model has been updated in 2021 and added to the files.

We inlcude units type C as well so you can print more of these and complete the blocks.

3D printing settings

No supports.

Torre Insignia and 3 tall towers are in scale with all the rest of the Mexico City collection.

However, Plaza de las 3 Culturas is not, due to it's higher detail. Scale down to about 66% to match.
