3D model description

¡Bienvenidos a CDMX!

As a homage to Mexico's capital city, MiniWorld 3D brings the most complete collection of its landmarks and famous buildings! This project is huge so we'll break it in parts, each containing a few buildings following a theme.

Part 3 are Monumental landmarks of Political, Cultural, and Religious importance.

The Monument to the Mexican Revolution, finished in 1938 to commemorate not the Independence, but the 1910 political Revolution. It was originally meant to be part of a much larger Legislative Palace, but only the dome was repurposed as this monument, considered the tallest triumphal arch in the world, it stands 67 metres (220 ft) in height.

The Palace of Fine Arts is the most prominent cultural center and venue in Mexico. It has housed presentations, galleries, concerts, and plays by the most renowned artists and musicians. Started in 1904 and completed in 1934, it displays Neoclassical, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco styles. It houses murals by Diego Rivera, Siqueiros, and others, and it is the home of the National Folk Ballet.

The New Basilica of our Lady of Guadalupe is a 1974 catholic church built to accomodate the immense pilgrimage to visit Mexico's patron saint, the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe. Its modern installations and services replaced much older previous basilicas, dating to the 1700's. The shape reminds of the Virgin's turquoise cloak, protecting all pilgrims under it.

Lastly, the Monumental Plaza de Toros Mexico is the largest Bullring in the world, with 41,262 seats. Aside from bullfighting, boxing events and concerts are common. It's the most prestigious bullring outside of Spain, and the best Matadors through decades have come to it. It was built in 1946 to replace an older, smaller bullring.
