3D model description

Introducing the adorable 3D model of an articulating mite, perfect for those who love unique and quirky designs! This charming model is expertly crafted to mimic the body of a real-life microbial mite, complete with intricate details that are sure to impress.

But that's not all - this little guy comes with a backstory too! He's a lost mite who is searching for his colony, making him a fun and engaging character that is sure to capture your heart. His articulating body allows him to move in all sorts of directions, making him a delight to pose and display.

It can be scaled up to any size, making it a versatile and playful decoration for any space.

Please note that The Lost Mite is for personal use only, but if you're interested in commercial rights, they can be accessed through purchasing the commercial license version.

3D printing settings

For best results, I recommend using a layer height of .15mm to .20mm, with 3 perimeters at a .40mm nozzle. I also suggest using 15% infill with a triangle or grid pattern, and 1.2mm top and bottom solid infill.

Mitigating overhangs: This design is optimized to minimize overhangs, but if you notice curling on some overhangs during printing, you may need to adjust the temperature or add additional models to allow sufficient cooling time.

Printing scale: The model is designed to be printed at 100% scale, which corresponds to a length of 75mm. However, you may scale it up as much as you like. Keep in mind that scaling it down below 100% may result in weaker articulating joints.

Once the model is printed, you may need to wiggle the arms to loosen the joints.

By following these guidelines, you can achieve high-quality prints with strong articulating joints. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me for further assistance.
