3D model description

For fixing the bed to the printer frame, I have designed brackets adaptable to different shaft lengths, since there are standard lengths for both the shafts and the profiles.

Firstly, it consists of two sizes of inner recess for support 20 mm deep, with a first recess in the middle and a second recess at the bottom.

Secondly, it consists of five sizes for 30 mm deep support. It has three fixing positions to the profile with a distance of 10 mm between each step. It also has five 5 mm depth levels (5, 10, 15, 15, 20 and 25 mm).

Fastening to the profile is done with M4 screws.

For a correct placement, there are some steps to follow as shown in the pictures.

  • Place a lateral axis first.

  • Attach the brackets to the frame and adjust the distance with the help of a caliper.

  • Attach the brackets of the other axis. It would also be convenient to adjust the distance between the two shafts with the caliper.

  • Check that the height of the base with the motor shaft is correct and there is no collision.

In case the clearance seems too tight, there are two options to choose from:

-. Fit spacing washers between the bearings and the base.

-. Place spacers under the bearings.

You can assemble the parts that interest you and for the rest use other parts designs that you have for this type of frames.

3D printing settings

The printing time for the 4 media is approximately 4 Hours.

The printing time for the 4 dividers is approximately 90 minutes for adjustable position and 60 minutes for fixed position.

The padding I chose was 30% (Although you can choose another value).
