3D model description

The Poulains lighthouse, Phare des Poulains is located on the northwestern tip of Belle-Île-en-Mer, the largest island in Brittany and heart of one of the most dramatic ocean landscapes in France.

Built in 1868 according to the lighthouse house plan defined by the engineer Léonce Reynaud, the lighthouse is small but functional, with no comforts except for a courtyard protected from the wind by a low wall.
Equipped with a 4th order light, flashes a white light every 5 seconds with a range of 24 nautical miles.

Visit Belle-Île-en-Mer

The model was designed using pictures and detailed drawing of the actual building in scale 1/160 (N scale).

You can resize it using your favourite software before print, however, if you do so, some of the parts may lose stability or look over scaled.

Model has 15 different pieces that you need to assembly as any other model kit: I attached an instruction booklet together with the downloaded files. Printing, painting and weathering will give a lot of fun.

Please note that the kit doesn't include the roof: This is to be done with styrene or cardboard 1mm thick.
I included a template in the instructions booklet together with SVG file in case you have acces to a laser cutter.

This model can be a great addition to your layout or diorama.

Happy modelling!

3D printing settings

  • Designed to be printed using SLA
  • L109,8 X W64,6 X H98 (mm)
  • The widest part measure 49,6x64,6 mm: Check your 3dprinter build volume
  • The kit has 15 parts: With the download you get both with and without supports.
  • Roof is not provided. I consider easier to get better results using styrene sheet or cardboard to build it: A template (and SVG file for those who have laser cutter) is provided. To texture it I used in my model roof slates texture from Redutex brand: code 160PC111
  • The supported files are not with the optimal printing orientation but with the optimal orientation according to minimize sanding and provided a perfect fit between parts. However, you can add supports according to your methods.
  • The kit part T1 LAMP correspond to the lamp and has to be printed in clear resin.
  • The kit has been designed to allow space for wiring in case you want to lighten with micro LEDs

My printing parameters:
-ANYCUBIC PHOTON MONO X
-Resin ELEGOO standard grey
-Layer height 0.050
-Exposure 1.9 s
-Bottom layer count 6 /25s

Happy modelling!
