EDIT 3:
As mentioned by Plampix, there was a mispell error from the very begin of release of the code... Even tho, noone pointed it out but Plampix! TY dude!
I updated the code with the correct LENGHT spelling (XD).
I even included the updated version of 'threads.scad' v2.5 (retrocompatible anyway).
I saw lot of improvements in this library, so I'll try to update my code to benefit of the new functions.

In the very beginning of the new N&B_v1.9.6, you'll find the "use " include. I uploded both old and new version, in case of some incompatibilities anyone may find. If something is broken, you cand rollback to 'threads_1.5.scad' lib.

It will not be in next days, because we've been out of the LockDown by 1 day at the moment and everything has become more slow (my company needs to be rebooted and this takes most of my time, taking in mind that now I have a 2 months baby Rick crying and laughing in my poor ears)...
See you soon guys, and THANKS TO ALL THE PEOPLE HOW LIKED, COLLECTED AND DERIVE THIS STUPID PIECE OF MESSY CODE!
CHEERS!

A quite simple OpenSCAD library.

EDIT2:

Hi again. Added a new bolt type.

Next version will include Customizer version. I swear.

EDIT:

Hello there, I'm on vacation but still working on this library.

Turned to version 1.91 from the v0.9 published before.

I included the "threads.scad" lib directly into mine library to make it easier to work with.

I've added a lot of features, and a new module called washer().

Cleaned up a little the code and commented some lines, but not everything, sorry.

Added a disclaimer, some examples for EVERY module and a full rendering of any bit you can create with this library and OpenSCAD.

Just to remind you, thanks to Dan Kirshner, threads created with its and mine library are mechanically correct and adhere to the ANSI and ISO standards.

Next version will support MakerBot Customizer and some new module bits.

Anyway, take a look at the code to learn how to make perfects nuts and bolts that will flawlessly fit in to your own designs.

It gives you the ability to create nuts, bolts and grubs with metric and imperial pitches and measures.

IF U SELECT IMPERIAL U HAVE TO PUT NUMBERS IN THE IMPERIAL WAY (EG 1/8, 3/8) and not mixing types in the variables.

Examples in the SCAD file.

Use it your way, but if u modify the code you HAVE to leave my copyright AS IT IS as mentioned in the GPL3 licence.

Thanks to Dan Kirshner - dan_kirshner@yahoo.com for his "threads.scad" library, included in this thing.

3D printing settings

Just put an INCLUDE into your .scad file and use it as any other OpenSCAD library, or set the render variable to 1 and comment out bits you don't need to render and have fun.

I use it to make boolean operations over my designs and make space to REAL nut and bolts.

If you want to print threads, bolts and washers, remember to use the right material, like Taulmann 618 or 645 to make them strong enough.
