devious pythagoras (Design-1)

The cup looks like an ordinary drinking cup, but it has a hidden mechanism that causes it to behave in a very peculiar way. Inside the cup, there is a central column with a small hole at the bottom. This column is connected to the bottom of the cup by a series of channels or pipes.

When the cup is filled with liquid up to a certain level, the liquid flows through the channels and fills the central column. As long as the level of the liquid remains below the hole at the bottom of the column, everything works as expected, and the cup can be used like any other cup.

However, if someone tries to be too greedy and fill the cup beyond the designated level, the liquid in the central column rises above the hole and starts to flow out of the cup, making a mess. This happens because the pressure of the liquid in the column is greater than the pressure of the liquid in the cup, so the liquid in the column is forced out through the hole.

The devious greedy Pythagoras cup is a clever and fun demonstration of the principles of fluid dynamics and pressure, and it has been used for centuries as a teaching tool and a novelty item.
