This fusing vise uses a short piece of nozzle liner, a lighter, and a rubber band for tension. Lubing the rail isn't nescessary, but can help. The video shows the process.

It allows you to join two reels. The sleeve can be removed by sliding down the line or just allowed to slide as you print on top of the extruder until your done your print. It won't hurt anything.
