3D model description

Design of a printer-mounted reel stand with a 20×20 aluminum profile structure.

Specially designed roll holder for smooth unwinding of TPU or Flex materials.

Principle:

  • A 3-part structure, supported by 20×20 aluminum sections, carries a Ø 8 mm axle.

  • The Ø 8 axis allows the coil to have 2 axes of rotation.

  • Rotary axes are made using 608ZZ bearings.

  • To avoid coil unbalance, an adjustable brake can be fitted, thus avoiding untimely jerks.

  • The coil is held on its axis between 2 screwed cones.

  • The "1/4-turn" screw system enables the coil to be screwed on in a matter of seconds.

Nomenclature :

3D printing parts :

  • 1 spool support cone (Cône_Support.stl)

  • 1 M42×2 nut associated with the support cone (Nut_M42×2.stl)

  • 1 lower right support (Support_Partie_Basse_Droite.stl)

  • 1 lower left support (Support_Partie_Basse_Gauche.stl)

  • 2 Ø 8 axis stops (Axis_Stop.stl)

  • 1 brake tab (Brake.stl)

  • 1 brake mounting plate (Fixation_Frein.stl)

  • 1 Ø 8 steel pin for shaping, with M3 thread at each end :

    • 2D CAD: Axe_Ø8.dxf.
    • Scale drawing in A4 format: AxeØ_8.pdf.

Screws :

  • 4 608ZZ bearings.

  • 4 M3 T-slot nuts for 20 × 20 profiles (T-nuts).

  • 2 M3×10 CHC screws (length depends on M3 thread of Ø 8 axle).

  • 2 M3×16 socket head cap screws (to secure brake).

  • 2 CHC M3×20 screws (for mounting bracket on aluminum frame).

  • 2 M3×45 CHC screws (for mounting bracket on aluminum frame).

  • 4 M3×50 socket head cap screws (to assemble the 3 parts of the bracket).

  • 6 STHC M3×6 screws (needle screws for the 2 axle stops).

  • 2 M3 LL series washers (L series may be suitable) (for Ø 8 axis ends).
