Introduction: I Made It at TechShop - Icon for Star Wars Bike Competition

W
ell, TechShop Detroit is having its 1 year anniversary on Saturday 6/1.  If it is anything like their grand opening last year there will be stuff there for people of all ages to enjoy...  My son spent hours making stuff in a room they setup for crafts; and this year he helped me (or I helped him) build a starwars bike for the anniversary celebration.    Given logistical challenges; I had to make the bike at home; no doubt using the tools at tech shop it could have been much better; and the star wars bike the staff at TechShop is working on is amazing (I saw the work in progress tonight).

Anyway; I went up to TechShop tonight to make a logo for it.

Step 1: Step 1 - Load Up Your File.

Note; I got the file for this at thingiverse.com - I need to give them full credit for the design.

All I did was print out a copy the 3D printer.

Step 2: Step 2 Warm Up the Printer

Step 3: Step 3 - Watch It Grow on the 3D Printer -

This little guy took about 1/2 of 1 hours time to print and that was on low resolution.

Step 4: Step 4 - Remove Your Item From the Printer

I was able to easily remove this from the printer - the only other thing I did was run a big black marker over the surface to make the star wars name show up.

This is the nicest part of my star wars bike by far; because I made it at http://www.techshop.ws
