Historical context :
The Battle of the Alamo, a defining moment in the history of Texas and the United States, took place in 1836. Fort Alamo, a former Spanish mission, became a symbol of resistance during the Texas Revolution against Mexican rule.

In February 1836, a Texian garrison, led by notable figures like William B. Travis and James Bowie, occupied the fort. Their objective was to defend Texas' independence and liberty against the Mexican forces led by General Antonio LΓ³pez de Santa Anna.

For thirteen days, the Texians withstood a relentless siege, enduring harsh conditions and overwhelming odds. The defenders' unwavering determination became legendary, and their plea for reinforcements yielded the rallying cry, "Remember the Alamo!"

Tragically, on March 6, 1836, the Mexican forces overran the fort, leading to the death of most defenders, including Travis, Bowie, and Davy Crockett. The loss at the Alamo fueled Texian resolve, and it ultimately contributed to their victory at the Battle of San Jacinto, securing Texas' independence from Mexico.

The Alamo endures as a symbol of sacrifice and bravery, a place where ordinary individuals demonstrated extraordinary courage in the pursuit of freedom and self-determination.
