3D model description

Complete and updated 3d model of the Dutch Walrus Class submarine made for RC in 1/60 scale.

The Walrus Class is a modern Diesel-Electric submarine in service from 1990 with a total of 4 submarines in active service.

HrMs Walrus, HrMs Bruinvis, HrMs Zeeleeuw, HrMs Dolfijn.

The Walrus Class has the ability's to operate worldwide with an armament of 4 21 inch torpedo tubes.

Length: 67,75m
Beam: 8,4m
Draft: 6,6m

The model printed in 1/60 scale is 1,15m long, 140mm wide and made for 100mm WTC.

Specs:

Complete submarine hull,

  • Hull separated in 2 parts, top and bottom. with locking system. 78mm Propellor (to be printed in resin) *Complete with 3d printable rudder hevels for X-rudder in the tail. *Separate Mast and periscope part to make it movable. *Scissormechanic for moving periscopeset

This model is designed for a 100mm WTC. The Parts for the 100mm WTC will be available in the future soon in a separate download.

I wanted to make a rather unique submarine and always liked the look of the Dutch Walrus Class. I didnt want to make a epoxy hull because it looks to much time consuming.

This model is developed consulting an experienced rc submarine builder. Any rc modelling experience is needed for the technical diving part.

This model is developed for printing a RC compatible submarine, the parts fit on the most FDM 3d Printers with 220x220 bed.

Also availeble in a bigger 1/50 scale, Bigger or smaller printing is possible but WTC parts and bushes may not fit.

Note:

Building this model requires more than just printing and assembling the parts. Some parts may contain small imperfections, which should not pose a problem to make a beautiful (scale) model.

Building a working submarine model is not easy. Experience with this type of model building is strongly advised. This model is suitable for working, but the necessary parts are not part of this design and file set
