3D model description

Prepped and ready for a Death Star assault, it's X-Wing Pilot Luke Skywalker ... now with swivel-arm, '84-era G.I. Joe styling!

Never content with just 5-points of articulation in my old Kenner Star Wars figures, I always wished they could move and pose like an ARAH G.I. Joe. Now, with the miracle of 3-D printing, that dream is arguably just as stupid, but a lot more accessible!

This figure is a brand new sculpt, using the finest photo reference that the internet has to offer. Using images of the old Kenner figure, I completely re-fashioned Pilot Luke as an authentic O-ring custom figure, complete with swivel-arms, rivet joints at the shoulders and elbows, bending knees, with a re-styled blaster (to better fit G.I. Joe hands), and a lightsaber! YES!!!

Please note -- finished construction of this figure will require additional hardware, including T-hook, O-ring, screws, and rivets. All of these items can be found through the links below. I don't have any connection to these sellers -- these are simply what I use for my own custom G.I. Joe builds.

NECESSARY HARDWARE:
For rivets, I recommend these:

For O-rings, T-hooks, and screws, I recommend these:

3D printing settings

To date, I've only printed my figures on an Elegoo Mars 2 Pro resin printer. I like to print them in white (I've been using Anycubic ECO resin), then stain the pieces before curing. For white resin, I print at .02 mm layer height, with a 2-second exposure time. Prior to curing, I also recommend using a small drill bit to help clean out any excess resin in the rivet/screw holes.

I orient the arm and leg pieces at 60 degrees, and have included separate STL files of these pieces in that orientation, including supports. I'm also including the pieces separately, so that you may configure them however they work best in your setup. For best results, be sure to orient pieces in order to keep supports away from the figure's joints. All of the joints/connections are optimized to eliminate (or at least greatly reduce) the need for sanding.

3D printing settings

Using White AnyCubic ECO resin in an Elegoo Mars 2 Pro printer, I use the following settings:

Layer Height: .02 mm
Bottom Layer Count: 5
Exposure Time: 2.2 s
Bottom Exposure Time: 35 s
