3D model description

Why:
I have been trying for some time find a suitable 223/556 magazine speed loader within the 3D printing community that I liked without success. So, I designed my own!

I modeled mine after a very nice molded plastic one that I purchased some time back. I obviously made minor adjustments to allow for easier printing and assembly.

Assembly:
use 2mm diameter rods hammered in from the interior circle side. I used a very small punch to push them in as far as they would go. The pivot pin is 30mm across so as long as your steel rods are at least 50mm you will have plenty of overhang on each side.

use 4 neodymium magnets; two will go under the feed (right) side, one under the mag (left) side, and one in the pusher. I’m sure I don’t need to explain this, but verify the pull before you add them. i just super glued them in, and they seem to be staying well enough.

After it is printed it folds up nicely.

Just a heads up, I’ve just recently completed this model and printed it for myself. I haven’t had a chance to see how well it holds up. If you have advice on ways to improve it, please let me know in the comments. This is my first contribution to the 3D printing community in this way and I want to provide a quality model for the community like the many that I’ve had the pleasure of printing for myself.

3D printing settings

I had the best luck printing with each end standing upright. (put the ends opposite of the joint on the print bed) You will need to use supports for the overhangs and magnet holes. The pivot pin prints well standing upright as well and the pusher is pretty obvious, but I’d add supports for the magnet spot on it too.
