3D model description

Cover for Velleman Vertex K8400 on-board operator.

As this circuit board with it's many contacts is relatively open to the environment on the inside of the printer, I figured I should produce a cover for this.

This to keep dust & oil away from the contacts, but also - should you drop a metal component on the circuit board, it could be damaged due to short-circuiting.

I've added a PDF with measurements, of which you'd specifically want to the check the height measurement of 68mm, on the right hand side of the model.

This raised area is to compensate for the raised area in the circuit board - but the space between that area of the circuit board & the lower end of the lower corner clamp of the Vertex housing is quite limited, making it a snug fit.

As this space could differ per build, make sure it fits your requirements, before printing. After all, it's about a 5 hour print, so you'd want to get it right. This model represents the final execution as it now fits.
(I had to re-do the raised area myself, as I was a bit out: I couldn't slide the cover underneath the corner clamp. I just cut raised area off & printed a replacement part - then glued that on).

To allow for any modification, the STEP model is included.
