3D model description

This commemorative bust is in honor of the late great H.R Giger.
Want to give your printer a workout? Have a resin based printer and want to show what it can do? (I wish i did! :))
The original model, created by the extremely talented Sean Kennedy in Lightwave more than a decade ago. I have to admit, I spent a disgusting amount of time getting this printable.. but after H.R Giger passed away on the 13th of May I said to myself, ok.. what is the absolute, most awesome, most detailed Alien model I can think of/make/find and I came across seans model I collected as I said nearly a decade ago, maybe even longer than that.
The model was originally designed as an animation backdrop, so a lot of parts were single sided and not full meshes, so needed rebuilding manually.. so many polygons... so many.. and wow.. lightwave sure packs some data into it's files. When you are dealing with a mesh that when processed from Lightwaves format, which can be hundred and hundreds of megabytes - even turning the camera crunched my 8 core cpu when this thing was at full quality.

Put it this way, on a machine with 32gigs of Ram, decimating this model crashed Zbrushed several times, which is rare as it performs so well.
Please read the instructions for printing info and tips.

3D printing settings

Printing

Print the base at 5% infill or more
Print the middle section and gun end with less infill than the base
to keep it balanced.
Supports and Raft
Needed!! Not as hard as it looks to remove.
When removing the support, just don't go hacking at it, be gentle and you should come out ok. I broke one pipe and glued it back, no worries.
Pieces
I printed mine in 3 pieces as I wanted a certain size, I have included the Full print, a cut version and a full plate cut version.
