The Legend: "Hector and Nestor"

According to legend, Hector and Nestor, twin brothers, are the origin of candy canes. But they did not like at all. Small already, they were constantly bickering. This explains Hector adults and preparing white candy canes and his brother, red candy canes. Each year, then returned the same question: who will sell as many candy canes at Christmas market in the village? Eventually they still flowed as much as each other!

Their mother got tired of these incessant quarrels for years. One night she entered the factory and stole Nestor preparing red candy canes. Then she walked into that of Hector and captured its preparation white candy canes. Once charged, it hurried to get home. She worked both separately by mixing liquid sugar several times to get two pastes, she stretched until they shine. She put the two tubes on each side, warmed them in a sugar lamp and began to twist them together to create a brand new red and white sugar of barley.

The next day she part at the Christmas market present these candy canes. She quickly achieved great success: customers were coming in large numbers! For their part, the children did not see any guests arrive. Intrigued by what was going on, they decided to follow the crowd, and that's where they found their mother on a stand with customers these new candy canes in two colors!
