3D model description

Two spooky Halloween bowls for serving treats (or tricks).

Printed flat they are quick and require no supports. The trick to getting them bowl shaped is to heat them up in an oven over a heat proof container, and then shape when hot. Once cooled the bowl will be set in the 3D shape.

SAFETY WARNING!! This process requires use of an oven, and hot items. Please use appropriate safety gear (oven gloves) and avoid touching anything with bare skin.

Post-Printing

To convert the flat print into a 3D bowl use the following:

Find a oven/heat proof bowl which will act as the mould for your print. Metal or Pyrex is good.
Place bowl upside down on a baking tray. I use a baking silicone sheet under the bowl to stop it from slipping.
Place the bowl and baking tray in the oven, and the 3D print on top of the bowl, centered if possible! (though off center will also work for a different effect)
Turn on the oven and set temperature to the lowest print temp for your filament.
Keep an eye on the 3D print as it heats, it will start to go floppy and drape over the mould.
Once up to temperature carefully remove the tray from the oven, and place it on a heat-proof surface. WARNING!! USE SAFETY GEAR
Before the plastic begins to cool use oven gloves to flatten the plastic against the sides of the bowl, you should be able to make this fairly flat, if not you may need to heat the plastic a bit longer.
Once happy with the shape of the bowl leave it to cool.
Remove from mould and you are ready to use.
