3D model description

Original GoPro thumbscrews are M5 hex-head screws with ABS plastic grips.
These replacement GoPro style thumbscrews require a M5 screw, preferably 40mm long, with Hex head.
(Alternative version for countersunk screw included and one with a printed M5 screw-thread attached).

Update: It's easy enough to scale the print (in your slicer) to fit other thread sizes.. but a couple of "mini" thumbscrew STLs are also included here, for M4 and M3.5...

NEW.. half height "stumpy" M5 thumbscrew STL added (height=12.5mm)

3D printing settings

FDM printers: Print standing upright with a wide brim and no support.
Obviously the more dense the print the stronger it will be, but PLA prints are ok with 3 external layers, 0.2 with 20% infill.
print time: 12-15min for (wall thickness 1.2mm) 0.2/20%, @60mm/sec.
The version with M5 thread included is best printed sideways (for strength along it's length), though it's final strength and durability is down to the printer and material ! (FDM: this will need support, and cleaning up with a M5 thread die).
