BRIEF SET - Project Aqua
Design a desk and user friendly plant pot which encourages plant argiculture within city environments and to increase greener lifestyles for city members.
AIM
When users attempt to introduce a plant into their work space it can either end up as two things, a dead plant in a old corner or as a ugly plastic pot which is a eye sore to look at. The aim of the project is to ensure a plant can be cared for and maintained without the stigma that it's just a old plant. The problem is that plant pots require 2 simple needs, sunlight and some water however within our busy jobs this is sometimes overlooked.
Simple put, the design will help to encourage users to care for their plants within a sensible and environment suitable way. A symbiosis between the user being focused upon their environment and adapting to the small changes on their desks to the plant being cared for. The plant pot designed will house small plant which users can easily handle on their desks, this helping to introduce a plant into their environment and desk without hassle.
FUNCTION OF DESIGN -- POLYGON
Polygon reconnects the urban environment into our own personal work space. Designed to fit into your studio or desk. Polygon can house a small plant which can be maintained for a prelonged time with its self watering feature.
Designed to visually display the amount of water inside, this can help the user to understand when water is required and when it isn't. This allowing the user to visually see the changes of the plant pot and how it slowly moves to the users care of it.
REQUIRED 3D FUNCTION
The design requires a acetone melting finish, this being a specific task required to water proof the main container and plant pot section.
Cotton String (at least 30 cms) cut according to the design or own preference.
Good Natural Soil and a small plant!
Normal printing difficulty. Much support material required but easy to remove.
