A beautiful replica of a traditional Dutch windmill. This design features functioning gears and transmission belt, and a hand-crank to spin the windmill blades!
Print the pieces with a good resolution, 0.20 for mechanical parts, 0.30 or more for the building parts.
1. Slide a small and big gear onto the bottom shaft, and sandwich between two shaft supports before applying a collar at both ends.
2. Insert the bottom gear assembly into the base.
3. Fit the handle shaft to the drive shaft and sandwich between the two top shaft supports. Put a collar on the drive shaft end.
4. Fit a long rubber band around the drive shaft and Insert the top gear assembly into the base.
5. Slide the collars of both gear assemblies outwards to secure in place.
6. Tie the bottom shaft and the drive shaft with a small cable tie. Don't tighten too much!
7. Place the balcony onto the base, and then the roof base and body.
8. Pull the rubber band up and around the roof shaft.
9. Fit the roof shaft into the roof and secure in place with a collar at both ends.
10. Glue the four wings into the central yoke. This is best done by lying the components on a table.
11. Glue the wing assembly onto the roof shaft and enjoy playing with your new windmill!!
