Plastic Reef #1: Random Anemone Generator
Plastic Reef #1: Random Anemone Generator

Hi!
This one may be the first of a generative series based on reef structures (corals, anemones, etc..). I called 'Plastic reef' and it's just a lot of decorative stuff from some OpenScad experiments.
I don't know how many generators will made, i have a few that looks promising and eventually i'll upload here. Feedback and new ideas are well received.
As many of my generators, the Customizer produces 2 sightly variations based on parameters provided.
In this one, the customizer generates 5 files: One for the full anemone (tentacles+base in one single piece), 2 random tentacles and 2 random bases. You may choose your favorites and print.
I've used some code from Torleif's openscad website: https://openscadsnippetpad.blogspot.com.es/2017/05/1-dimensional-noise.html
Hope you enjoy it.
Have fun!
Printer : BQ Prusa i3 Hephestos
Rafts : No
Supports : No
Resolution : 0.2 it's ok
Infill : Doesn't matter
Notes :
There's no 'toleration' margin between tentacles and base parts.
To have a good fit you may need adjusting your slicer parameters in order to compensate the excess of plastic.
Reducing flow, increasing XY scale of base in 1% or 2%, using 'Horizontal expasin' parameter (in Cura slicer) or just sanding the pieces until they fit.
No supports needed, the angle of tentacles is tweaked for avoid overhangs
