3D model description

I have designed and printed a prototype that slides in as a Glass bridge that can accept "other" types of glass frames. The "other" part is something I'm still deciding on. I aim to be able to mount up various complete glass frames (with their arms and nose pads removed). Since my OEM Glass shades are starting to crack from standard use I figured its time to retrofit even if the outcome is not as sexy...

This mod requires no modification to your $1,500 Glass investment; it functions smooth like the original clear and black lenses and even grips against the titanium frame for nice rigidity.

As you can see the mount is fairly universal when paired with 2 mini zip-ties. Since frames vary wildly you can opt to mount higher/lower by 2-4mm, inside/outside of bridge lip and I could create additional bridge faces to swap to further the span of up/down. Each frame will take individual consideration as you need to clear the top right lens frame for viewing the Glass prism. With this method you can choose to cover the prism with the lens or mount low enough (easy with square frames) so you look above the frame to see the Glass prism.

Latest version (V2) was printed in black PLA and mounted to Gunnar glass frames (just removed side arms for test fit).

I have other variations I'm still working on but I have paused for now due to the new release in November of "Glass 2" and need to get more details/measurements on any physical frame changes...

3D printing settings

You will need:

To print the 3 files (PLA is fine for strength - ABS even better)
