Frog Cubimal

Cubimals (portmanteau of "cube" and "animals") were an in-game collectible from Glitch. The game has shut down, but the former players continue to love Glitch memorabilia. This is a working version of the frog cubimal, which will spin the propeller when the key is turned.

Print the pieces as provided, and clean up any supports or flaws as required.

Insert the key into the main drive shaft (the large gear), and cradle this assembly in the bottom piece of the frog. Insert the small gear through the hole in the top part of the body, and glue the small axle onto its top. Make sure you don't accidentally get glue between the axle and the body, otherwise the propeller won't turn! Glue the propeller on top of the small axle. Once the glue has set, place the two halves of the body together and make sure the gears mesh properly. You may need to do some filing on the big gear in particular. Once you are happy, glue the two halves together.

The teeth of the gears are very small, so if you print too quickly they may come out badly. This is still a bit of a work in progress, so I might need to tighten up some of the tolerances.

Test printed out of PLA on a RepRap Huxley using 0.3mm layer height and a 0.5mm nozzle.
