houseboat "Philemon II"

Summer holidays 2014 I walked to the Berlin waters along (Berlin = capital of Germany) to go on vacation. I saw many speedboats and many houseboats. They made me to build one for me when I am older. Saturday, 20 June 2015 I have searched the internet for 3D printers and 3D modelling and came to the Thingiverse website. After a few minutes I found the S.T.E.A.M. Challenges. It didn´t need much time to choose the #MakeItFloat Challenge and sad: “I can build a houseboat!” After five afternoons of work (in the morning I go to school of course) I had a model of a houseboat. But I haven´t got a 3D printer. So I have searched the internet for 3D Hubs or Makerspaces. I have found one in Dresden: the Makerspace in the Saxon State Library and University Library Dresden. Next day I went there and they said: “We will print your model but it will take some time.” Three weeks I was very exiting whether all details are printable. After these weeks of waiting the print of the model of my houseboat finished but there was one week left to change things before uploading the model. I have changed some things but there wasn´t time left for a second print in the Makerspace Dresden.

I have chosen Autodesk Inventor Professional 2014 Student Version (Student, because I am fifteen now) to design my houseboat. I have inspired me from summer 2014. I have had fun to design and I am happy with the result. My houseboat is much decorated in detail and it is a one thing print. So I have described all rooms and the ground plans of the two floors. This you can see in some uploaded pictures.

I have had fun to design and describe all rooms. So if you find “I must print it” please choose the smallest layer high to print (at least 0,1 mm layer height for all details). I have uploaded a short film too.

Attention: The .STL - file is version 1.1 of my model. Model version 1.0 you can see in the film and in the featured picture because there wasn´t time to print version 1.1. Reasons see description.
