Here's a stylish weekend project with this 3D Printed LED belt buckle, powered by GEMMA Adafruits wearable electronics platform.

This awesome LED buckle is a 6 piece design that uses GEMMA and three NeoPixels to illuminate the 3D Printed cover.

3D Print these pieces in your choose of colored ABS.

The complete circuit easy fits inside the buckle cover and uses a small LiPo battery that lasts over 8 hours. You should use transparent PLA for the defuser. The small lid cover easily snaps on and the buckle hinges clips onto your belt for easy access and a secure fit.

You can follow our complete guide for this project on the adafruit learning system.

What awesome buckle design will you come up with? Share your project and Let us know by using hashtag LEDBUCKLE and subscribe for more wearable electric projects from adafruit.

3D printing settings

You can make your own design by Copying & Tinkering our Buckle model on Tinerkcad.

Each part should be printed using 20% infill to reduce any breakage issues. Set the shell count to "2" so the parts are durable. Try printing each piece separately to achieve the best quality.

You will need to print the diffuser block in transparent PLA filament. The diffuser block can be difficult to remove from your build plate, so try using blue painters tape

The base latch and buckle cover need to be printed with support material. These pieces have pins that stick out that will snap into the bottom and base. You do not need to print with a raft.

The entire print job should take about 2-3 hours.
