3D model description

Mana crystal lamp, based off welkynd stones as seen in the Ayleid ruins of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. When assembled, the lamp size is about 250 mm high. Some gluing is required for assembly.

The lamp is sized to fit a stand-alone LED light source inside, such as an LED tea light. A small colour changing light was used for the pictured print. If desired, the crystal pieces can be printed in a semi-transparent coloured plastic, or painted lightly, and then used with a normal white LED tea light.

PRINTING

All pieces are able to be printed as oriented without supports. A layer height of 0.2 mm or lower is recommended. Infill for the crystal bottom and crystal top pieces should be 100%.

ASSEMBLY

The files are numbered in the suggested order of assembly. Please see the accompanying colour-coded diagram.

After printing the lamp side holder and all six lamp sides, glue all six sides into the holder at the same time in order to ensure a good fit. Lamp sides fit into the holder with the top printed layer facing outwards. After the glue has dried on the lamp sides, glue the top spikes to the upper rim of the lamp side holder.

Glue is not required to secure the legs to the base, but it is recommended for stability. If you are painting the lamp, you may wish to wait until after the rest of the pieces are painted to glue the legs on.
