3D model description

The Infill Tiles are to demonstrate what infill percentage represents and what number of shells represent from the Settings menu in MakerBot Desktop.

This model is part of the Print Kit found in MakerBot in the Classroom (http://www.makerbot.com/education). Each print serves as a visual aid to help describe basic concepts, terminology, and/or settings associated with 3D Printing.

3D printing settings

Download the .makerbot file and place the file on your usb stick. The .makerbot file is for a MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer (5th Generation).

Pause the print to switch filament colors.

If you need to print this file on other MakerBot Replicators, please download the .stl file and bring into MakerBot Print and do the following:

To remove the roof go to Settings > Custom Settings > Roofs > Show > Done > Roof Thickness > 0.0mm.

If you're using MakerBot Desktop. Select the correct printer from the Device dropdown in the file menu bar.

You will need to create a custom profile for this file to print properly. In Settings, selected Create Profile. Select the correct template (ie. printer, filament, and resolution). Name the new profile (ie. "infill test"). Click Edit Profile. A texteditor will open. Change "numberOfShells" to the matching number of the tile. Change "infillDensity" to the matching number of the tile. FINALLY CHANGE "roofThickness" TO ZERO.
