3D model description

This intuitive design assembles perfectly to house 7" tablets and up. Made to be sturdy and universal. I have tested this with the Samsung Tab 3, Kindle HD 2nd Generation, Kindle Fire HD 7.

Please let me know which tablets you've tried this with and I'll add it to the list!

3D printing settings

Hey it's Kyle mayne, this is my first upload! Let me know how I did in the comments. Find me on instagram : whysofrail (I post similar material on my account)

First things first.. Make sure it fits! The length of Universal Tablet Holder is 16.5cm(16.5mm). I would recommend adding a 5mm tolerance on each end and make sure that your tablet is at LEAST 17.5cm(175mm) in length. Please let me know if this confuses you!

Now that we know your tablet is fit for this holder. Download the source .STL files. You only need to download the following files:

R_TAB_HOLDER.stl

L_TAB_HOLDER.stl

SQUARE_DOWEL.stl

NOTE ***

If you want you can download the blender (*.blend) source files you can find them in the files. Also if you want to get a sneak peak what the source files contain, checkout the image gallery and I have previews in the there.

Plug the *.stl files into your favorite program (Slic3r) and generate your gcode. I left all the values default and I made sure that supports were enabled (helps for the square holes that the dowels slide into).

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PRINT x7 of the SQUARE_DOWEL.stl because this design requires that quantity.

After your 3d print has finished clean up the edges with a straight edge knife, box knife whatever you use (if you desire). Slightly bevel the ends of the square dowels to make sure that they seat perfectly into the left and right part of the holder.

This design doesn't require glue or any adhesive. If you have troubles with the dowels popping out bevel the edge more or make sure that the square insets on the left and right holder are fully cleared out and free the support plastic we generated. Feel free to glue these dowels so that they never come out. It's all personal preference and is up to you! I didn't have any issues with them popping out.
