3D model description

This ring-light fits on cinema-style support-bars of 15mm or 19mm according to the Arriflex system. It allows for nearly all the large lenses and is specifically made to fit Master-Prime lenses. For smaller lenses, light-shields can be fitted.

I made this specifically for hand-held or Steadicam use, the added weight is approx. 1200 grams.

This is specifically made for the new generation of adjustable and high power LED strips.

Originally I made 2 versions: a Warm-white version made from short LED strips that can be found in the fluorescent replacement tubes. These strips were cut in pieces and reconnected in such a way that they only needed 12 volts. A 3 channel dimmer (400 Hz) was used to divide the circle in 3 segments so a less symmetrical lighting can be made.Fixed with hot-glue. The supplied STL is from the next, RGB version, but the single color STL is available when requested

The second version is with an RGB-WW-CW LED-strip of 5 meters @ 24 volts. This is controlled by a wireless with a dedicated remote control. The strip is spiralled in the hood and fixed with hot-glue and it's own adhesive backing.

For the constant light output it is advisable to use a DC-DC boost converter, which should be strong enough to supply the needed amperage, when using a Li-Ion battery (up to 8 amps!)

3D printing settings

All the parts are printed in PETG, for strength and better heat-resistance. Black for the support, hood and clamps, white and clear for the diffusion.

This JUST prints on the CR10S4 as it is about 351mm (warmwhite only) and 310mm in diameter (RGB-WWCW version)
