3D model description

A simple but fun automata. This was a test to see if I could create my own automata and now I know I can hopefully it will be the start of a few more designs with even more complex movements.
I hope you enjoy it and I'd love to see your photos of it.

3D printing settings

Printed on a Creality CR-10s

Completed Model is approx 60mm wide x 230mm long x 170mm high.

Layer height 0.2mm

Infill 10%

I found I had to slow down the print speed to print the eyes as they are quite small, and because they are small I added a raft for them which they can be removed from easily.

I found that when fitting the rods they were quite tight and needed a small amount of sanding in order to slide smoothly up and down.

I used a glued gun to glue the parts together, but any strong glue will do the job.
