3D model description

The 3D printing community has done an incredible job creating a lot of designs to protect/cover our faces from the Covid-19 virus but what about our hands? This simple question led me to design the Low Poly Hands. Like most of my designs, I wanted the Low Poly Hands to be easy to print and use no support material. Manipulating individual surfaces on the interior side was the challenging part of this project but eventually I was able to clean up the overall geometry until I felt it was ready to print. This was a fun project for me and I hope you enjoy 3D printing it. - W

3D printing settings

The prints you see in the photos were printed on the Creality 3D Ender 3 with Hatchbox PLA. Listed below are based on Cura settings.
- PLA material
- Standard Quality (0.2mm layer height) or try Low Quality (0.28mm layer height) to reduce print time
- Wall thickness: 1.2mm
- Wall Line Count: 2
- Top & Bottom Layers: 4
- Infill: 20%
- Printing Temp: 200 degree C
- Build Plate Temp: 50 degree C
- Speed: 75 mm/s
- No support material is required but recommend brim or raft feature to enhance build plate adhesion.

Note: For reference, my clenched fist measures approximately 4.2" wide (107mm) so printing the Low Poly Hands at 90% is a good size.
