Vif D'or HARRY POTTER

This vif d'or is made up of three parts: the body/sphere, the right wing and the left wing in symmetry.

Print parameters :

Sphere :

• Materials: ABS (for acetone smoothing)

• Layer thickness: 0.12 mm

• Filling: 20

• Contour/perimeter shells: 3 (For good surface finish after acetone smoothing)

• Generate a small area of support under the gold snapper for good printing.

Wings:

• Materials: ABS

• Nozzle diameter: max 0.4 mm (Modify the "extrusion width" parameter (max 0.4 mm) if the feather hooks do not print)

• Layer thickness: 0.2 mm

• Filling : 100

Post treatment :

Sphere :

• Remove supports, deburr if necessary

• Place in oven to smooth outer surfaces

• Sand lightly if any areas remain unsmoothed

• Paint the sphere with gold paint. I used gold spray paint.

Wings:

• Deburr if necessary

• Lightly sand both sides

• Heat the front structure with a hair dryer to give it the desired curvature.

• Paint the wings

Finally, assemble and glue the two wings to the sphere in the holes provided. Drill the holes to the correct diameter if necessary.

• Layer thickness: 0.2 mm

• Filling: 100%

Post-processing

Sphere:

• Remove the supports, deburr if necessary

• Put in an oven to smooth the exterior surfaces

• Lightly sand if there are non-smooth areas

• Paint the golden snake sphere. I used gold spray paint.

Wings:

• Deburr if necessary

• Lightly sand both sides

• Heat the front structure with the hair dryer to give it the desired curvature.

• Paint wings

Finally, assemble and glue the two wings on the sphere in the holes provided for this purpose. Drill the holes to the correct diameter if necessary.
